Our Projects: A Marbella Villa's Imprinted Concrete, Restored Stage by Stage

This is the job we point every villa owner to first: a stone-pattern stamped concrete driveway in Marbella, with a carport under a reed-thatched pergola and a garage apron, all faded and cracked. Nothing was broken out. It was washed, repaired, cut in and recoloured until the whole entrance read as one deep, glossy surface.

What was wrong with the surface?

The grey imprinted concrete had lost almost all its depth of colour. In daylight it looked chalky and patchy, the garage apron was visibly worn, and the driveway had a spread of cracks that drew the eye before the pattern did.

How was it restored?

First the carport and driveway were pressure-washed. The cracks were then filled and the edges masked with tape, before the borders along the pergola posts and walls were cut in by brush.

Only then did the first strips of colour go down, followed by the final coat across the carport, the driveway and the apron. Working in this order meant the paint went onto clean, closed concrete, and the edges along the pergola stayed crisp and clean instead of smudged or patchy.

What does it look like now?

The finished entrance is dark, glossy and even from the gate to the pergola. The stone pattern stands out again and the repaired cracks sit quietly under the new colour. For the full write-up of each stage, read our Marbella restoration guide or see how the same approach works on a pool surround.
